Description

Surprised I haven't submitted Nike yet...
Yep, fellow mercenary and partner to Kleis, Nike is a bit brash idiot but I love him anyway. He's your first "strong man" of the party and despite some stupid statements here and there he's a good guy. I enjoy him quite a bit, especially when Kleis is there to set him right.

Name: Nike Reinhardt
Age: 24
Occupation: Mercenary
Weapon: Axe
Likes:
Parties with drunk people
Alcohol (to a degree)
Meat
Sweets
Rings
The lute
Playing cards
Trying out new things
Dares

Dislikes:
Getting drunk
Lectures
Clean or polished things
Vegetables and "green"-tasting things
Anything that kinda sounds like an insult
Spiders
Hot weather
Awkward silences of pauses
Buying new stuff when the old stuff still works
Being expected to remember stuff

Skills: NOT THE LUTE Nike's best and most obvious skill are his physical ones - he is musclar and generally bulky so carrying heavy stuff and fighting are his main ones. He also has the stamina to keep going for a while. He is quite proud of how handy he is with a needle too as he refuses to buy new things if he can repair old stuff. He's a general handyman in this right (often repairs his axe in a slapped together smithery).
Flaws: Well his bulk isn't always an advantage - he's certainly not the fastest guy on the track and he isn't exactly graceful on his feet. Combine that with his leap before you look tendencies and just plain old dumb moments and he's often finding himself in the center of trouble though he often handles himself well. Isn't the greatest listener.

Personality: To be perfectly honest, Nike is an idiot. He's loud, rarely picks his words right and constantly offends, people much to his confusion. Everything Kleis plans he manages to ruin in glorious fashion only to laugh it off later. Nike is honest to a fault and quick with a joke - he forgets things easily and likes to make amends fast (especially if he's at fault) but doesn't particularly like saying sorry outright. He isn't good with the sensitive heartfelt stuff but he's got a big heart deep down that he does his best to express in his own stupid way which happens to mirror the form of an awkward thirteen year old girl half the time. He is so used to fighting that he's become accustomed to just resort to violence whenever a problem pops up. In many ways he's really just a big kid that never grew up and in truth he probably has no problem with that. He enjoys life in the present and groans everytime the future or past come into it. He often overreacts and has his fair share of sulky moments but for the most part he is a very eager and easy to like fellow. However he does have a temper and when he loses it he loses all good humour and sense too. He feels no pain until after his temper and he causes more destruction to both himself and the enviroment when he's like that than he knows. He is ashamed of this side of him as well as the past deeds and jobs he took. Nike is rarely vocal about it but he is afraid of ever being that desperate, poor or helpless again and enjoys others' company more than they know.

Background: Born into poverty, Nike has been used to scrimping and saving from an early age. Despite the suffering, Nike always imagined that as long as he had his family he'd be alright. One particularly bad winter however, changed that when his mother died after giving birth to a daughter. Without a mother, Nike's father had to work twice as hard to get the money they so badly needed to keep alive, especially now that they had a new daughter to take care of. It got to the stage where Nike barely saw his father but he still held out hope - instead of being lonely Nike took to taking care of his sister and began trying to also get some cash from petty jobs even if he though he was just eleven. This, however, caused him to go down a bad path as he befriended some local thugs who taught him how to steal and that it was okay if you needed it more than them. He'd steal every now and again, maybe even get his sister something nice with the money but he never actively stole (due to his morals) until he was sixteen and his father received a huge injury at work. With his father unable to work and having little in the way of skills, any money he did get simply wasn't enough and eventually Nike began to steal from people full-time. Catching the eye of a local gang of robbers and highwaymen after he stole from a couple of their lackeys, they promised him a cut of the money if he worked for them and, seeing only oppertunity, he accepted. He remained a bandit for a good while and to counter his occasional bouts of guilt and tiredness, he began eating a stamina-increasing drug or plant called Ilpsid which staved off pain and made him near unbeatable in battle. Everything came to an end when he was met by the Heinreich mercenaries who were hired to take the bandits in. He was defeated in combat after injuring eleven of their men and prepared himself for the worst when he got caught only realizing at the very end that he'd been abandoned by the gang. Rather than jail, however, he was taken to the mercenaries' HQ where he met with one of its three leaders, Saluchka Eikner, who'd apparently known about his father and family situation. Realizing his skills and his good heart despite the bad run, she offered him a chance to train with them and to repent for his previous actions. Nike couldn't believe his luck. Everything changed for the better that day and although he still has a great many enemies he's been working at changing their minds one by one. He was about twenty when he was recruited and didn't get a proper mission until he was twenty-three instead he'd been making repairs and training so as to prove his sincerity and dedication.

Other:
He'd rather not talk about his past at all.
He pretty much owes his current lifestyle to Kleis's mother, Saluchka, so he is very grateful to her though she does at times terrify him.
He is very defensive and protective of his little sister and father.
Not so secretly has a thing for Kleis

I like Nike, a lot!♥ He seems like such a lovable fun idiot. He is also sooo cool and handsome looking~ >w< It's adorable that he has feelings for Kleis.

The whole time that I looked at Nike's picture, I imagined Fable with his arms folded and grumbling. XD
