For a long time I was worried about how many groups I was in but now I'm all like, "well why does it matter?" There are some people in less groups than me and some in more; I like roleplay groups so it's fine to join 'em! XDDD Okay, now I really wanted to join this one so I'm nervous about my character. I really hope me and Snowy get in, I'm so excited and terrified at the same time!!!

Personality: Ellis is a cheerful but sensible boy who constantly seems to be in a hurry to grow up and be an adult. He is quite mature on the surface but give it a second and you'll see he's still just a kid in many ways. He is an exceedingly good listener and often has people come to him with problems or just to vent which he often complains about but clearly enjoys. Ellis also has severe OCD tendencies and tends to clean things up when he needs to cool off or find something to do. Because Ellis is in such a rush to grow up he can often find it awkward to actually talk to people his own age, especially girls, despite being at times more childish then they are. He tends to dislike drama and can be a bit passive because of it; not out of shyness or anything but more due to exasperation. Ellis is the sort to never go on an adventure or do something wacky but is often led into such things by wilder sorts. He tends to be strict, chiding and quite motherly; sometimes he doesn't even realize it himself. Ellis tends to immerse himself in his work and is always thinking about responsibility and duty rather than fun or any friends and hobbies. He is also blessed with amazingly bad luck; if there's any chance something will fall on his head or a ball will hit him in the face it will.

History: Ellis was born right after his father left and despite never meeting him he hated him. His mother was clumsy and did pretty much everything wrong but she tried her best and, for all his complaints, Ellis respected that more than anything. In fact, at times it pained him that she worked so hard for him so Ellis urged himself to grow up faster, to get stronger so that she wouldn't have to overwork herself. The two of them had many flaws but they had each other and that was really enough.

They never really had enough money for the finer things so Ellis never went to school; instead, his mother attempted to teach him. But Ellis was stubborn; his mother already had work to do, why should she have a second job in raising him? Ellis did his best to learn by himself and did alright but well, he always did better when he was being taught. That much was obvious, but not to a seven year old boy.

When Ellis turned about ten he got teased by some kids about having no dad. He was infuriated; they couldn't possibly understand what it was like. It was his first and pretty much last physical fight; he wasn't all that strong and came home with a black eye. The drama was stifling and he decided next time he'd just take the higher ground no matter how mortifying it was. When he asked about his dad though his mother simply told him she didn't know where he'd gone. He never said it, but Ellis hoped he'd gone up to the surface and just died. Someone who'd leave them like that was no dad to look up to him. Really, ever since then Ellis has just been working. He's clumsy at the job but does his best.

Other:
Ellis writes purple prose nonsense in such flowery handwriting that barely anyone can read it. On top of that, it tends to be littered with spelling mistakes.
Likewise, he's terrible at cooking. It runs in the family. Rather than expect a good meal they compliment whatever DIDN'T go wrong with it.
He's pretty handy with a needle and often repairs the clothes in the house when he needs to.
Would like to see the starry sky someday.
When he gets too embarrassed he tends to pull his hat over his eyes/face. More frequent than you'd think as he often gets flustered.
Often has plasters all over his hands due to his rookie mistakes at his job. That and he's naturally injury-prone.
He's very respectful to those older than him. All sirs and ma'ams with this kid.
Doesn't know what subtlety is. He's kind of straight forward and any "signs" or implications just whoosh past him.
Knows nothing about fashion.
Likes reading (or at least thinks he would) but is kind of illiterate and is still learning how to do it.
Hates going to bed and often works late into the night only to fall asleep somewhere. Mal usually swings by to cover him but he's always disappointed with himself in the morning. He does sometimes succeed though and can be found in a very easily amused zombie-like state.
Similarly forgets to eat sometimes or refuses to eat so as to save money. Don't be surprised if you see him, again, in a zombie-like state.
